Here’s the prize money payout for each golfer at the 2020 Travelers Championship

News

Low scores are the norm at the Travelers Championship; TPC River Highlands is, after all, where the lone 58 in PGA Tour history was shot (Jim Furyk, 2016). Yet through three rounds of the 2020 Travelers in Cromwell, Conn., the numbers have been even lower than usual.

Thursday’s scoring average of 68.532 was the lowest first-round number in any PGA Tour event thus far in the truncated 2019-’20 season. Friday’s 68.883 was the third-lowest second-round average of the season, and Saturday’s 68.544 was the second-lowest third-round score. Through 54 holes, the cumulative stroke average at River Highlands is 68.653, which if it remained that low after Sunday’s final round would be the lowest of any event for the season (the current leader is 68.859 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open last October).

And if the golfers can go even a smidge lower on Sunday, this year’s event could break the previous all-time 72-hole stroke average in Travelers history of 68.567 set in 2011.

Given all this, we have one recommendation if you want to be the winner at day’s end on Sunday: Go low! And there is plenty of financial incentive to do that. The overall prize money payout for the event is $7.4 million with the champion earning $1.332 million. Below is the prize money payout for each golfer who made the cut. We’ll update with player names and specific totals shortly after the tournament ends.
